The founders of MyTrainingSpot saw an opportunity: sports facilities in Greece — from tennis courts to paintball arenas — were still managing bookings via phone calls and paper notebooks. They wanted to build the "Booking.com for sports activities."
The Challenge
Building a two-sided marketplace is notoriously difficult. You need to attract both facility owners and customers, with features that work for wildly different use cases (a tennis court operates very differently from a go-kart track). And you need to move fast — the market window won't stay open forever.
Our Role
We became their technical team. Over 4 months of intensive collaboration, we built:
- A facility management dashboard for owners
- A customer-facing booking interface
- Real-time availability calendars
- Stripe payment integration
- Email and SMS notifications
- Admin analytics and reporting
Technical Decisions
We chose a Laravel + React.js stack for rapid development, with a PostgreSQL database designed for complex availability queries. The architecture supports multiple facility types with different booking rules — something that would have taken months longer with off-the-shelf solutions.
